For me this was a day of being snowed in. The rain turned to snow, schools were canceled, and our little town was shut in from the rest of the world. Since I live out of the city limits and out in the country my husband and I were shut in and spent the day inside with a toasty-warm fire burning, playing solitaire, reading, sleeping and when awake we were also admiring God for His way of amazingly designing the weather for moistening the land which so desperately needs it at this time of year. There's the rain and the rushing of the river water roaring that keep you awake and then the freshly fallen snow that seems to add a perfect peaceful serenity to the land and its surroundings. On days like these you can slumber in sweet peace or take the opportunity to clean out a closet that's needed cleaning or read a good book. Whatever it is make it a time of unexpected joy and celebrate your time and the circumstances with praise and thanksgiving. God is smiling on you. In fact, He's even singing! Shouldn't you be?
" The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." - Zephaniah 3:17
"... be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." - Ephesians 5:18-19
