Godliness

Godliness is... those who have received and responded to God's grace; those whose faith in God is expressed by obedience. Godliness is thus summed up in worshiping God and putting ones religion into practice, which includes demonstrating such virtues as righteousness, holiness, and the "fruit of the Spirit". The New Testament emphasizes the Christian's call to live a godly life in an age that is essentially evil.*

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age."
