Character

God's character - this is our standard. So, what is character?

According to The American Heritage College Dictionary it is 1.) The combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group, or thing from another 2.) A distinguishing feature or attribute, as of an individual, group, or category. and get this one 3.) Genetics A structure, function, or attribute determined by a gene or group of genes! and 4.) Moral or ethical strength. 5.) A description of a person's attributes, traits, or abilities... it also says reputation, status or role, a notable or well-known person! Now that's my God and so much more so is He! But I give you those definitions for us to see what we are looking for in the Lord to model our lives by.

If you would remember - or rather, let's review - righteousness. Other than that for which we can be thankful to Jesus for, His righteousness, it is also our inner moral conformity of our character to the character of God! And the acts that flow from a righteous moral character! All this because we know how much God loves us and in turn we act in harmony with our obligations to God out of our love for Him! It is our responsibility to live as such for Him! It is also how we act with other people and for the same reason; our love for the Lord.

Shall we then model our lives after the Word of God and be all that God desires of us? I say, "yes!"
